Construction works were started in February, 2011 and in the same year Gabala International Airport conforming to the highest standards was put into operation.
The runway is 3 600 meters long and 60 meters wide. The taxiway covers an area of 26 000 m2 and the apron covers an area of 100 000 m2. The airport is able to accommodate airplanes with the weight up to 400 tons. Gabala International Airport will be capable to serve 200 passengers per hour.
